Condo gym, commercial gym, studio, park or online?

Train where you'll actually show up. A trainer in your condo gym removes the commute but depends on your building's rules and equipment. Chain gyms add a membership fee, private studios charge per session with no membership, and parks are free but hot.

Condo gyms

Before booking a trainer to come to you, ask your juristic office three things: are outside trainers allowed, do they need to register or pay a fee, and are there restricted hours? Then send the trainer photos of the equipment. A programme that needs a squat rack won't work with a single set of dumbbells. Trainers who come to your condo.

Commercial gyms

Chain gyms sell PT as an add-on to membership. Fitness First publishes a price sheet (฿710–2,385 per session, 2023) and Virgin Active lists PT from ฿1,300. We couldn't find published PT prices for Jetts or Anytime Fitness, so ask at the club. Many commercial gyms only let their own staff trainers coach on the floor. If you already have an outside trainer, ask the club before you sign a membership.

Private studios

Private studios usually charge per session with no membership, and you train alongside only a few other clients. They cluster around Asok, Phrom Phong and Silom–Sathorn. Browse studios.

Parks and the weather

  • Train early (around 6–8 am) or after sunset. Midday heat and humidity make hard sessions risky.
  • The rainy season (roughly May to October) brings sudden downpours. Agree a rain plan and cancellation rule in advance.
  • Check the air quality index on smoky days, particularly in the dry months. Move sessions indoors when PM2.5 is high.
  • Parks have their own rules on commercial activity and equipment. A trainer who brings kit should know them.

Online coaching

Online works well for accountability and programming once you can perform the main movements safely. A useful hybrid is a few in-person sessions to learn the lifts, then online. Online coaches.
